Today is the day of the winter wind. My friend wrapped herself in shawls against the chill – while I sighed for joy at the slightly less impossible heat, and the smallest hint of freshness in the delta deep humidity and heat. Not for the first time Bangok seemed the mirror clad eastern sister to New Orleans, also negotiating uneasily with the ocean, built on a debateable land somewhere between earth and sky.
