Skylarks look for lovers over Berwyn – last night’s late snow sullies the high tops – cloudy, dove-grey felt refuses the sun that warms my back. Spring in the borderlands, spring in the mountains.

The prints are inspired by totemic ideas and the imaging of the Tlingit people of the Northwest Pacific Coast of America. I was fascinated by the practice of elevating perception through long walks in wild places. There’s an intriguing idea that vision creatures appear after these exertions – so these animals of the mind are in a way emanations of the landscape.
